Namgyalma Stupa

The Tibetans regard Namgyalma Stupa, a dome-shaped building that houses the remnants of Buddha, as a holy place of prayer. It houses a sizable Sakyamuni Buddha shrine.

The Namgyalma Stupa was built as a memorial to the Tibetan warriors who fought for Tibet’s independence. The building constructed by King Ashoka in the third century BC shares similarities with this one in terms of architecture.

Sandstone was used to create the Namgyalma Stupa, which was intended to last for a very long time. Tibetans hold the view that anything that lands on the Namgyalma Stupa is cleansed.

Some people consider rainwater that lands on the stupa to be blessed. A trip to the Namgyalma Stupa is also thought to purify negative energy.
