At Mcleodganj, close to Dharamsala, the Kalachakra Temple, a well-known Tibetan temple, is part of the Thekchen Chöling temple complex. It was constructed in 1992. The beautiful murals of Kalachakra (Wheel of Time), which are connected to the Avalokitesvara, of whom the Dalai Lama is a manifestation, are housed in the shrine on the west side of the Tsuglagkhang Temple.
The beautiful temple, which the Dalai Lama himself uses as a venue for public instruction, is an architectural wonder that showcases Tibet’s diverse ethnic heritage and artistic prowess.
The temple also houses a statue of Shakayamuni Buddha, which is encircled by beautiful fresco artwork with 772 mandala deities, as well as a centre Kalachakra figure. The temple complex, which is well-known as one of the most well-liked places of religious pilgrimage in Dharamsala, also has a book store and a charming cafe.
Highlights: The temple’s interior murals and artwork are excellent examples of Tibetan craftsmanship.
Also, the prayer wheels are an intriguing sight.
